Hug Break UK Group Hug Record

Hugg frozen yoghurt celebrated their opening in Princesshay by breaking a record for the UK’s biggest group hug! 138 people hugged their way into the UK records at a grand opening event on Saturday 26th June. The UK record was set in 2009 at St Pancras Station, London with 122 people taking part and now Hugg in Exeter’s Princesshay shopping quarter hold the record!
HUGG FROZEN YOGHURT OPENS FIRST STORE IN PRINCESSHAY

Hugg frozen yoghurt will open their first ever store at the award winning Princesshay shopping quarter in Exeter just in time for summer. Opening at the end of May, Hugg plans to have a grand opening weekend to give Exeter’s shoppers a taste of this delicious new treat!
Frozen yoghurt the tasty, healthy alternative to ice cream is hugely popular in the USA and Hugg is bringing the trend to the West Country. After looking hard for the perfect location Hugg confirmed their arrival to Exeter the vibrant capital of the South West!
Brett Parker, CEO of Hugg said, “We’re delighted to open our first store in Princesshay. It’s location among top named stores and stylish apartments is perfect and we hope to add something to the expanding al-fresco atmosphere of Bedford Square. It’s also exciting to be offering something new to the shoppers and visitors of Exeter.”
Frozen Yoghurt has a lower fat content than ice cream and to boost its healthy appeal and already delicious taste, Hugg adds just-chopped fresh fruit. Hugg use seasonal and where possible, local fruit, to ensure you get a ‘tasty’ Hugg! But not all of the toppings are so healthy, some are quite naughty and irresistible!

Due to open at the end of May, trading from the former Stem unit on Bedford Street, the new Hugg store will welcome shoppers
in search of delicious treats perfect for a summer’s day.

Interactive Tai Chi sessions open to all in Princesshay

Exeter’s Princesshay shopping quarter is set to host a series of free interactive Tai Chi sessions open to all ages and ability.
The sessions are being held in Princesshay Square on the 17th, 24th & 31st July & 7th August two 1 hour sessions from 11am-12pm and 2pm-3pm.
The sessions will be hosted by experts from the Exeter School of Tai Chi, Tom Collingridge and Helen Kingdon who train diligently with leading Tai Chi masters from the UK and China. The School believes
that Tai Chi is accessible and beneficial to everyone and has taught diverse groups including elderly care home residents,
people with disabilities and young people with behavioural problems, with students ranging in age from 16 – 101!
Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Manager said “This is a real opportunity to try something new and have a go at Tai Chi. We’re
delighted to be able to offer our main square to community groups to host interactive events such as this. The fact that this
is free and lead by authentic Tai Chi instructors mean shoppers and visitors in Princesshay will have exclusive access to
expert teachers!”
The Exeter School of Tai Chi teaches authentic Chen style Tai Chi, following the teachings of the current Grandmaster, Chen
Xiao Wang.
